Additional Counselling Training and Continued Professional Development
To ensure I provide safe, informed, and effective support, I have undertaken extensive specialist training alongside my core counselling qualifications. This additional development enables me to work confidently with a wide range of complex and sensitive issues:
- Bereavement Support – Trained with Cruse Bereavement Support, enhancing my ability to support clients through all types of grief and loss, including complicated or traumatic bereavement.
- Rape and Sexual Violence – Completed training with RSVP (Rape & Sexual Violence Project), focusing on trauma-informed approaches to working with survivors of sexual abuse, assault, and exploitation.
- Autism and ADHD – Studied neurodiversity and mental health through Derby University, equipping me to better understand and support neurodivergent individuals, both adults and young people.
- Suicide and Self-Harm Awareness – Undertaken focused training in recognising, assessing, and supporting clients experiencing suicidal thoughts or engaging in self-harm.
- Working with Survivors of Sexual Violence – Additional specialist CPD exploring the psychological impact of abuse, power dynamics, trauma responses, and pathways to recovery.
- Advanced Mental Health Practice (Level 7) – Currently completing a postgraduate module in Advanced Mental Health Practice, deepening my clinical understanding and enhancing my work within both private practice and emergency mental health settings.
This ongoing training reflects my commitment to providing ethical, knowledgeable, and compassionate support tailored to each individual’s experience.
