Inner Harmony Counselling Service – Terms and Conditions

1. Confidentiality

All sessions are confidential and what you share will not be disclosed outside of our work together. The only exceptions are:

  • If I believe there is a risk of serious harm to you or others.
  • If I am legally required to disclose information (e.g., in cases of terrorism, child protection, or court order).
  • If you disclose serious criminal activity.

Wherever possible, I will discuss any need to break confidentiality with you first.

I also receive professional supervision, in line with ethical guidelines, where client material may be discussed anonymously to ensure safe and effective practice.

2. Session Length and Fees

  • Sessions are 50 minutes unless otherwise agreed.
  • Fees will be discussed and agreed upon in advance. Payment is due before or at the time of the session.
  • Payment is accepted by bank transfer or other agreed methods.

3. Cancellations and Missed Appointments

  • Please give at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
  • Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice may be charged in full, except in emergencies or at my discretion.

4. Online and Face-to-Face Sessions

  • Online sessions are offered via secure, encrypted platforms (e.g., Zoom) to ensure privacy.
  • Face-to-face sessions are held in Redditch at an agreed location.
  • Please ensure you are in a quiet, private space if attending online. I cannot take responsibility for issues with your internet connection.

5. Working with Children and Young People

  • For clients under 18, consent from a parent or guardian is required.
  • Sessions are confidential for young people, although I may work alongside parents/carers where appropriate and with the young person’s consent.
  • Safeguarding is a priority. If I believe a child or young person is at risk, I may need to involve other professionals, but I will always aim to involve the young person in this process where possible.

  • You are free to end counselling at any time. Ideally, we’ll discuss this in advance to allow for a proper ending.
  • I may also suggest ending or reviewing counselling if I feel it's no longer beneficial or appropriate.

  • Your personal information is held confidentially and will not be shared or sold to third parties.
